PreciPoint develops intelligent microscopy systems and innovative software solutions to digitalize laboratory processes for research use and for healthcare professionals in the field of histopathological cancer diagnostics.
For our new optics laboratory in Jena, we are looking for a senior optics engineer to join the team working on research and development projects for advanced microscopy solutions in fulltime
(40 hrs/w) as soon as available.
Your tasks
- Design and set-up of multimodal microscopy systems working with wavelength from the visible to the midIR-range based on quantum technologies
- Setting up, testing, and running novel non-linear microscopy systems, using fluorescence, scanning, spectroscopy, and advanced microscopy techniques for applications in cancer diagnostics and research
- Support for the development of custom solutions
- Operation of advanced optical microscopes to collect measurement data
- Close collaboration with project team and PreciPoint’s Technology departments
Your profile
- PhD degree in physics, optics, or related field
- Deep understanding of optical concepts, such as widefield microscopy, image formation, non-linear microscopy. Basic knowledge about lasers and their practical applications
- Experience with providing technical user support for microscopes and building optical set-ups for image formation
- Ability to understand cross-departmental interdependencies and communicate with different teams to assure smooth processes
- Strong organizational, time management, and verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of standard operating procedures and lab safety rules
- Fluency in English; ideally conversational level German
- Ability to travel
