WebRTC & Video Streaming Engineer (m/f/d) Medical Technology

PreciPoint GmbH, located in Garching near Munich, develops intelligent microscope systems and innovative analysis software, thus contributing to the digitalisation and further development of laboratories. Our customers range from medical laboratories and research institutions to industry.

We are looking for a WebRTC & Video Streaming Engineer (m/f/d) on a permanent basis to lead the evolution of iO:Stream, our high-performance remote microscopy platform, offering flexible remote or hybrid work options.

• SFU Architecture & Integration: Evaluate, select, and integrate a robust SFU solution to replace the existing 1:1 P2P mesh network.
• C++ Media Pipeline Modification: Adapt the existing webrtc-native C++ libraries and C# wrapper to route high-framerate, hardware-encoded (H.264/NVENC) video to the SFU.
• Performance Optimization: Ensure the video stream remains ultra-low latency. Tune ICE, SDP negotiation, and network traversal strategies for restrictive hospital/corporate networks.
• Audio Implementation: Introduce low-latency bidirectional audio to the platform. Handle complex audio requirements including Acoustic Echo Cancellation, noise suppression, and A/V synchronization.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with our software engineering team to deploy and scale STUN/TURN/SFU services, and mentor team colleagues on handling WebRTC streams on the client side.

• Five years of work experience in software engineering with a strong focus on real-time communication (RTC), video streaming, and media pipelines.
• Deep understanding of the WebRTC stack, SDP, ICE, RTP/RTCP, STUN/TURN, and modern SFU architectures.
• Strong proficiency in modern C++/Rust and C#.
• Experience with hardware-accelerated video encoding (specifically Nvidia NVENC) and codecs (H.264/H.265/VP8/VP9, AV1).
• Fluent in English, German is a plus.
• Ideally, experience with C# net10 and WPF.
• A background in MedTech, tele-medicine, or handling secure healthcare data is preferred.
